bit of a strange one here. Would like your  thoughts on it.

A potential client has come to us with a planned proposal. He is in the final stages of building a lean-to on his property. He would like us to install some PV Panels on top of this structure. He assures me he has structured it to withstand more than the required weight loads and uplift.

Has anyone dealt with such an installation? will it be classed as 'on the building' or ground mount? I personally cannot see anything wrong with it so long as I document that it is the clients responsibility to ensure the structural requirements of the system.

Discuss.....................

My own array, extended off the side of my garage. Strictly speaking this may be subject to planning, PV on the main house is planning exempt, on a garage or similar then it isn't officially.

I don't do any pv, but reading the OP and your post, I am thinking "uplift". Especially with Barney around. Hope all is well.

Is that ok to register MCS too binky and for FiT

MCS and FIT don't give sh1te where the panels are fitted, just whether it is installed to supply power to a domestic residence that meets EPC requirements.
