Inverter maths question

Still new to this so just trying to work things out.

If an inverter says it takes 1 x 400w panel, but also says max voltage is 55v and max current is 13A, are there any cons to using a higher rated panel? Would that also mean you're more likely to get closer to the max output of the inverter? I see a lot of panels rated at 405w and 415w that seem to be cheaper than 400w ones.

Just check panel spec, as long as VoC is less than 55V and Isc is lower than 13A you should be fine. Although I would be hesitant to exceed 400W if that's what it says is the max.
