Not really the best title TBF but need a bit of advice really.

Is the a big job or a little job and how much will I be looking at to have this wired up?

The last electrican has already fitted an isolator for the pump last year and just wondered really is this a big job at all. Thanks

The installation of the system would depend on the design of the swimming pool to which it is being installed.

You state that an isolator has been installed but do not specify if they have also installed the appropriate protective/control devices (30mA RCD, B16 MCB, motor starter).

If all the electrical supply is correctly and compliantly in place and suitable for the location i.e. outside of the zones of the swimming pool (possibly partially within zone 2), then the next difficulty is positioning the unit on a suitable concrete base at the edge of the pool and fixing it securely in place.  This could be considerable work if it is not in place at the moment.

They do not clarify what they mean by the "Grounding cable" and the requirements; as unless the pool system has supplementary bonding this would appear to be superfluous unless it is just to connect the outer case to the supply earth, in which case it should already be in place.

Installing the unit on an existing base should be reasonably straightforward (if you have the bolts available and the SDS to drill the concrete) and connection of the unit to the power supply with a protected 1.5mm² cable suitable for use in swimming pools should also be straightforward.

Thereafter I concur with binky (but not with blinky😄).

Trouble is the pool outer edge is made out of decking so concrete will be impossible. I am thinking this will be a bad move bolting it on to the decking. The isolator is fed from the CU in the shed which is RCD protected coming off a 16A MCB

The instructions say it should have a motor starter, presumably only for the overload as it is switched on by the unit switch.

They also state the mounting plate should be mounted on a solid concrete base 200mm below the level of the pool edge to allow the unit to be flush with the edge.

Consider if I asked you how much it would cost to replace a ceiling light and you replied "ah, a simple job, about half an hour" and I then responded by saying "oh that is good because the ceiling is made of asbestos, it is 10m high and the light weighs 200kg"  you may be similarly limited in being able to have given a suitable response.

If you can describe the whole situation physically (location and use of pool and power supply, area design and capability to change layout, intention to not follow instructions) and electrically (means of supply earthing, distance of supply to pool, existing power use on CU, tripping current of RCD, the rest of the CU you have described) as best you can then we can provide more detailed and cogent responses.
