Hi all. Not done one like this before, so I hope you can make sure my thinking is correct. Or if there would be a better way to go about this.

A customer who wants power to some dog kennels to run two floodlights plus a socket for a power washer, and also to go in a different direction, to a large shed & greenhouse incorporating a light and a socket.

Estimate total load to be about 6.4Kw, the use will be intermittent.

My idea was to come from a Henley block (already installed) in 10mm T/E (this size due to volt drop) to a 1way CU, 32A mcb, 100mA RCD.(thinking about discrimination) Through the loft space out the side of the wall, through galv conduit across a span of about 1mt into a stable, total distance approx 15mts.

In the stable a 4? way CU with 30mA RCD. Already in the stable is 1 light & 1 socket.

From this stable CU, underground to the kennels, approx 35mts away, 10mm SWA to the lights & socket.

Then from the stable CU again, another 10mm SWA underground to the shed & green house. Approx 45mts away.

I was going to TT the stable, but how best would I earth the light & socket, use the metal armour?

Thanks for any help.

Malc

Sorry I didn't make myself clear there.

There would be 10mm tails going to the 1 way CU, then 10mm T/E out from there.

If you do use conduit ensure you earth it personally if it was my job I would just do it all in SWA no need for mechanical protection then and no problems with vermin hopefully.

Good thinking.

I should have thought about that one. I've just sorted out a problem that had rodent damage!

Surely 10mm to the kennel lights and socket is abit of an over kill, wouldn't 2.5mm or even 4mm to over compensate a little bit do the job.

Yeah I could go with the 10mm from the Henley to the new board in the stable, but from there, 4mm would be good enough to go to the shed, and same again to the kennels.
