"We're gonna look after the Vets"    ( That got Apache thinking of emigrating to the States till he found he meant military Veterans .

"We're gonna cut taxes "  

One minute he hates NATO  , the next he doesn't .

He was quick to remove Obama's health scheme for their underpriveliged who can't afford health insurance.    What was the problem with that . ?

well they were having to pay a type of national insurance for that Deke, often (usually) costing more than their mortgage/rent each month, 

so really just a state run health insurance scam tbh.

Interesting if you look at the way things are going over here, they're trying to privatise the NHS by stealth, encouraging everyone to have private pensions and giving those who need it most sod all. When I was really ill and couldn't work I ended up on disability benefit, after one year they reviewed it, no contact with myself or any of the doctors I was being treated by and despite 2 suicide attempts they decided I was a lot better and reduced my payment to £43 a week! How the hell they expect anyone to manage on that is beyond me, if I wasn't married I could never have survived.

The trouble is these days there are a certain group of people who'd like to bring back the workhouses, London gets more money for road projects than any other place in the  UK. They are determined to push ahead with HS2, it will get people into London faster, all they are bothered about is London, it's just a pity we can't blast a huge chasm across the width of the country and let them have independence from the rest of the UK. They bleed money from everywhere else and spend it down there, the rest of the country can rot so long as London is ok. I was watching a programme the other day and part of it involved a 10 minute drive through London, I counted loads of police cars, and I mean loads. Recently I have been driving to Shropshire, several occasions and various times and between Warrington and Shropshire I have been lucky if I saw one police vehicle, and they reckon there's no such thing as a north south divide!

Phil I think you're focusing on the wrong things, understand most politicians have a home in London, therefore they consider themselves to be part of London hence why they want London to be good, after all where you spend most of your time you want improved?!?

as for number of police, well having spent the past 2 years working down there I can assure you there is far more crime that goes on in London than other areas of the country so I say let them have the police as they've got the crime! 

I don't think they are ever going to grasp the concept of £43pwk to live on, even after mandleson did his little TV experiment nothing changed so I doubt very much it will improve anytime soon. 

Let them get on with what they do as they will anyway and you and I shall just go about our lives, I stopped reading newspapers, watching the news and listening to phone in radio debate shows many moons ago as I found I was getting too worked up about it all and nothing ever changed. I was constantly on a downer as the negative energy given out by these was having too much of a bearing on me. Now I just ignore them and get on with my life!!
