Last week my eye plays up, take a trip to hospital & diagnosed with Iritis, cue 3 different eye drops & a few days off work as driving with blurred vision isn't allowed.

Find an unopened envelope in the kitchen Wednesday evening........................sod it  road tax reminder for the van, & it runs out in the morning, do it on line......Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh need an MOT & i cant drive yet (all sorted Thursday mot was spot on).

Then Saturday the new Kia Sedona (2 years old) dumps all the oil from the slave cylinder on the drive resulting in no clutch. So the car is now sat on the drive waiting for me to get hold of the service dept at Kia........................let them say its not covered by warranty & they cant collect it, **** me will I go into one.

Here is today's corker from KIA main dealer............."yes we will have to inspect the vehicle to see if the clutch is covered by the 7year warranty, I'm fairly sure it is only a 2 year cover on a clutch though"

******* lucky the pompus **** didn't get a kick up the arse.................the motor is 2 years 1 month old has only done 17K & has pissed clutch fluid all over the drive............it wants to be****ing covered!

Rant sort of over......................I feel a battle coming, maybe a blog needs setting up if they start playing silly buggers.

The AA were spot on with collection & delivery, cant fault them at all.

but it's not the clutch that went wrong, just resulted in being damaged by whatever failed in the first place. If your eyes can take it, I think some careful reading of the warranty is required, failing that have a look at the Honest Johns website - he writes motoring articles for the Telegraph, and is a soucre of much information. www.honestjohn.co.uk/

The warranty does state the clutch is only covered for a 2 year period & that 2 years starts from date of vehicle registration...........so yes we miss the warranty period on the clutch plate.

The latest from the Kia dealer is;

"the cylinder has gone as has the flywheel & both of these are covered by the 7 year warranty as they are hydraulic items, the clutch is also well worn past being reusable & unfortunately this is not covered by a warranty so will cost £514.89 but the labour will be covered by warranty as we are doing the other items"

Would advise the manufacturer to find a new supplier of clutches, well worn after 2 years 3 months & 17893 miles on the clock  :red card

So I'm paying the £514 just so the car gets sorted, but a letter is being drafted by Mrs 107 (she used to work in the legal world & does great complaining letters) & will be sent to Mr Philpott, because I've found out the cylinder/flywheel & clutch come as a kit .........if so why isn't it all under the same warranty? just feels like a way for them to be clawing some of the kit cost back..

The car should be ready tomorrow. :pray

Not a happy bunny this is how Evans Halshaw Reading a KIA main dealer think a car should be returned to a customer (before it went in it was spotless as it had been valeted 3 days prior to breaking down)

The bird carp is stuck fast, a car wash didn't even move it, now booked a valet to give it a go.20140513_173502.jpg20140513_173529.jpg20140513_173543.jpg20140513_173555.jpg20140513_200753.jpg20140513_200804.jpg20140513_200820.jpg20140513_200826.jpg20140513_200838.jpg

I swear the bird **** is stuck faster than gripfill

Mrs 107 gave them 48 hours to reply with a solution that they can pay for, then it's an email to the Chief Exec of KIA uk

Bird mess can damage the paintwork of a car if not removed within a relatively short time. That is a very poor standard of return to a customer, do they sell their new cars looking like that.

Doc H.

I used Marvo's wet rag idea, boiling hot rag 20 mins later gave it a blast with the Karcher jet wash. Job done.

Also had a call & email from the director of the dealership, he had the dept heads in the office on the speaker phone & let me give all some home truths about customer care and repeat custom or lack of.

I now have to get the best 5 star valet of the car available  & hand the invoice to the director personally.
