Jib card??

Hi 

Was looking at getting a jib card

Went down the timeserved  route 

Have got the following 

C&G 2382

C&G 2394

C&G 2395

10 + YEARS AS A QS 

Nearly 30 years as a spark domestic and commercial .

NICEIC Approved contractor status (me)

And JIB say I need a mature candidate assesment to get a gold card. 

Could anyone enlighten me as to what card they would give me please ?

Do I really need it as I haven't so far and I don't fancy spending 2k just to get their assesment is there another route?

Do you have your apprenticeship papers? 

Oh they'll offer you the Adult Trainee card until you can prove otherwise, I'm afraid to say it's the 'new' scam after 'part P'.

Old thread I know but they have just brought out a new method........... 3 years of NIC inspections and your able to get a gold

Yes, but only if you stay with the firm that you are a QS for, if you leave the firm, your JOB card goes bye bye

It appears the NIC somehow bought the 'QS card' and changed the rules to suit.

Previously it was possible to get a 'JIB QS card' if you have been a QS for a number of years.

There must be gold in them cards...

It annoys me that an "Approved electrician" used to be a grade only obtainable if you had completed JIB apprenticeship.

Right rip off with them. After you pay a lot for the exam ( and course if needed) you think you will get sent the card, but no. Your sent a slip of paper that you use to go on line, upload a pic, fill in other details and pay a further  50 odd  pounds ( Can't remember exactly) to get the card.

Mine expired last Millenia.....I only keep it as it has my NI number on it. Other than that it is as useless now as it was last Century

my original photo less one had Electrical Technician on it ( that's when it meant something ) . This one has Buildings Electrician on it
