Hey all, i was just wondering if anyone knew what jib grade I would come under with the following qualifications?

City & Guilds 2330 level 2 & 3

17th edition wiring regs

2391 inspection & testing

Any advice will be appreciated

Thanks

Good topic I consider myself to be an approved electrician on my card it says completed apprenticeship nvq level 3 2391 and 17th edition regs but I'm only listed as an installation electrician where as other people I know have same qualifications but there's say approved electrician can any one shed any light on this cheers

Passed my apprenticeship in 2006 and 2391 in 2009 17th last year on my card it says 16th just checked my card expires this year so maybe it's cos I didn't have my 17th at the time

It just seems like a load of crap. There are time served electricians I have met who have not got any qualifications at all, but there workmanship is some of the best I've ever seen. And the JIB would not even grade them. There's something wrong with the grading system.

As far as I can see, unless you are employed by someone else, Youy need an NVQ3 to even be considered.

If you are employed you could be a Labourer.

After reading it I think the JIB are a load of ******* and a waste of time.

Joint Industry Board

It seems to be a big money scam. Starts with qualifications, all the way to governing bodies, and then on top of that all the extra courses we all have to take all the time.
