Is so awkward thanks to the idiot government right now its totally unfunny, i called about 3 jobs this morning. One was posted yesterday and filled 4 positions within 12 hours. Second was advertised as being 20 miles away but was really 40 miles away. and the Third was a even bigger joke with the phone calls being directed to a clueless call centre with someone who can barely speak English. And to top my day off after all the messing about to get JTL Approved Apprentice Candidate status im told that because im over 19 i may not be eligible for full funding so employers will be less likely to offer me a apprenticeship(although i will have already completed 2330 level 2 so who knows).

Anyway Rant over for now.

If anyone knows of anything in the Nottinghamshire/South Yorkshire area feel free to let me know.

Jono, you have my sympathy, it is very hard out there at the moment.

This year will be the worst since the early 80's. And with nearly all vacancies appearing online, they are viewed immediately and applied for.

Employers are spoilt for choice.

(Don't give up, keep searching and most important hold your head high)

regards

Don

Jono I am sorry to hear your problems, but I hope you will not give up.

This is a bad time for everyone, I remember a similar time in the early 1990's that was hard but this time it appears more drawn out.

Keep your chin up and be positive it can only get better from now on!!!

try perry electrical in mansfield, ask for andy.

also try all the decent homes contractors in the area . they are into a 5 year contract for the social housing.

main contractors are such as bullocks, lovells, keep moat, connaughts etc.

Ask at the local wholesalers if you can put a card up . You could get something short term , then if they are impressed ,could lead to something more. This game is like the building trade , its who you know at the right time that counts.

I think assured building solutions are doing regen work in the area as well.

Main office is in liverpool but they now have offices in your area.
