On BBC3 now. Very interesting programme. Think it's important to know where your food comes from.

Anyone watching? Any thoughts?

I love food, don't care where it comes from. Those 'behind the scenes' programs that try and put you off McDonalds etc... that makes everyone else I know feel ill, they make me hungry. :) Getting hungry just writing 'McDonalds'.

No missed it so will catch it on demand tomorrow.

But I'm a great believer in Catch/shoot/trap it, kill it, cook it, then eat it.

Some of the tastiest fish I've eaten has been caught, gutted & cooked on the beach all within 10 mins of being hoiked out of the sea.

If you've never seen the programme before it shows what goes into your food. It is very important where your food comes from.

It's on NOW! (until 11.30) they're just picking a cow to slaughter :D
You mean beef doesn't come in boxes or vac pac;) ;)

Personally I make sure that my 10 year old daughter knows that beef comes from cows, pork form pigs, chicken from... and lamb from those white fluffy things that roam the fields

The only thing is,, I don't want to have to kill it myself.

Doesn't bother me. :D

Better than Argentinian or American crap full of growth promoters (all banned in the UK, but the meat isn't).

My son who is now 24 was on a day out with us when he was around 6 years old.

Passing a field full of cows he said, "oh look dad, MEAT".

Thats my boy.

I first went into a slaughter house when I was about 7, and a chicken processors around the same age, I always knew where food came from.

The program is very good for those who have never seen what happens.

I worked on a poultry farm before I left school so have experience of plucking birds and the like. This has not put me off eating poutry. My sister visited a poultry farm when she was young and that has put her of eating Turkeys for life. Like GH says I think these programs are good.
