Pricing a job that requires 6 downlights. The ceiling is coming down so it's 2 visits first fix and 2nd fix a few days later. The lights are to be installed in the kitchen. There is no RCD protection so would I need to provide that. As it's an addition to the original circuit I was thinking a Minor works cert? But I believe it needs notifying too as it's in the kitchen.. Guinness

If it's a TT supply then yes,,Otherwise as you are not adding burried cables (<50mm), a socket or wiring in a bathroom then no.
Cheers Noz. Is it still notifiable work?

It would be notifyable as it's an addition in a "special location" as defined by Part P
No problem there but it's a minor works cert as it's an addition.

whether its a MW or EIC it still needs notifying

it doesnt matter what cert it is

I was expecting it to be notifiable but just needed to be clear on the cert to be used. I can get my quote off now. Cheers mate
