Please don't do that with the plate :( they aren't designed to be enclosed in metal fittings.

Put the three reds/browns into a 10a connector block put some tape over and forget. Put the 2 blacks/blues into a 10a connector block the connect (via flex) To the N connector on the fitting the do the same with the switch line black/blue/brown/red marked with tape or sleeve brown/red and connect to the L terminal on the fitting. Then connect the earth (cpcs) again in a 10a connector and connect to the earth terminal on the fitting. DONT FORGET TO SWITCH THE POWER OFF WHILE DOING THIS! will try put up picture later and Im sure someone will be along to correct me soon.

I have the lights fitted and working but forgot to update. What I ended up doing was ripping the stupid wiring block out of the new fittings. I then purchased a couple of ordinary ceiling roses and dumped the covers. I took to the bases with my Dremmel and cut out the wiring block and the earth connector which I then epoxyed into the new light fitting. I then simply removed the old fitting after taking a photo of where all the wires were connected and marking them so I didn't mix them up and connected them in the same way to the new fitting. Job done. By the way I took all the halogen bulbs out and replaced them with 5 watt LED's. I now have the same overall light for a tenth of the wattage.
