Just been asked to fit a socket & TV point behind where someone wants to mount a small LCD TV (in a bedroom).. "no problem" I said "but your walls are paramount board and you'll need a stud to mount the bracket on, or use a ceiling bracket kit"

I am right aren't I?? or can you get suitable fixings for these now??

BTW.... I am not putting the TV up, I'm just installing the sockets!!

Could a bit of board be gripfilled onto wall and then screwed through with some decent plasterboard screws. Those walls are not very thick though are they.

This problem is a major headache for us electricians, we tend to worry about other trades problems which I am always guilty of, as are most of you on this forum.

All you can do is put the supply to the point the customer requested, test it off and provide the cert, then leave it to the other trades to sort out the fixing.

That was my thought exactly...

I was just thinking,, to advise the customer.

When I went to look at the job I told him "No probs for the electric and aerial, but you won't get a wall mounting bracket on that wall; you'll have to get a ceiling bracket"

I am NOT going to fix the TV to the wall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
