Returned to the job today to do a couple of minor jobs and had a good poke round. Lifted the corner of the lounge carpet and whaddaya know - floorboards. Looked under the stairs cupboard and hey presto, not only floorboards, but cut, loose floorboards with a 'Paul' sized hole. There's under a foot and a half of headroom down there, but as I'm only a short arze, its definately dooable thoughg not especially pleasant.

Going back in the New Year to quote 2 ring finals, upstairs lighting rewire and some bonding issues.

What I really wanted to say was thanks to all that responded :Applaud . I only discovered the forum a few months ago and I'm amazed at the selfless help and time people are prepared to offer others who simply need pointing in the right direction. I had looked at the other forum that can't be named, yet this looked as if it was a points scoring exercise by people of dubious experience. Needless to say I won't be returning.

As one of the other current threads points out, none of us knows it all - I certainly don't. But for a sole trader knowing there is a place to bonce a few questions off others is very reassuring.

'Nuff said, I'm filling up ....

This is something which attracted me to this forum as well.

I also like the fact that you can be honest and straight on here without people kicking your fundamental orifice. ;)

Hi I've had instances where I've had flooring I wasn't happy about disturbing.

I just got the customer to pay a local carpet / flooring firm to lift flooring,I did the work, then the carpet / flooring firm came back to replace it . SIMPLES !!

Best of luck

Speedster.
