its the rigid chassis. EU want cars to crumple when you crash and Land Rovers don't crumple easily... sad day to see them owned by India (or any country for that matter) , even sadder to see another British icon go.

They have some sort of new model in the pipeline I gather . Actually the Jaguar seems busy too. Amazed to see that Cadbury's is still there TBH
They always do Deke!

They have to to keep up with the Toyota's (aka Jones's!) etc.

You mean Browns Lane Jag & Lode Lane LR I presume from your locaiton?

Ah,

Yes Castle Brom, forgot about that!

I have worked extensively in all 3!

As well as Cofton, Longbridge, Hams Hall, in several areas, and several areas of Lode Lane!

Happy Days!

Good CNC/PLC/Servo stuff, on the lines enjoyed that.

Nah that was the Sopwith Camel . They pushed the Spits across the road to Castle Bromwich Airfield for test flights. Alex Henshaw was the main pilot , he wrote an interesting book called Sigh for a Merlin, (ref; to the Rolls engine) .

That reminded me of once talking to a young mechanic who lived by me, he was very interested in WW2 , and was going to Rover at Longbridge for some reason . Ah says I , they used to fabricate Lancasters at the Austin during the war . Whats that says he ?.

A bloody great bomber , says I.

No, I know that , says he, whats The Austin ?
