Going to be some project methinks.

What a plank(me) just read his post again yes it does say 230vac,still some work involved wiring for switching via push button and relay when there is a mod ready to use.

You can also use a archetrive switch push to make similar to a door bell biased switching better than a push button.

Some containment for all the add ons

Archy switches seem to be all "push to make", while the OP needs a "Push to break"

Try this for the switch, you just need to find an appropriate enclosure for it,,Wiring diagram to follow,,,, (just give me a few hours)

That looks OK except you don't need a link between 8 & 5 in the relay..

In CCt diagrams you show the switch contact that goes between the NO (normally open) and NC (normally closed) outputs..

Also don't forget your earth wires.. and an enclosure or two!!

Personally I'd put the relay in a din rail box and use din rail terminals for the joints, flex to the plug (3core), socket (3core), photocell (4 core) and switch (3 core) through stuffing glands and put the ends of the un used earths in choc block (at photocell and switch). Put a 3A fuse in the plug top and 0.75mm flex should do!

I still think it is OTT for what he is after and the result was in the link earlier.

Agree with what you say over the din rail and enclosure suspect adaptor box approx 150X150X50 minimum plus stuffing glands Adaptor box to be earthed. remember screw terminals, so has to be checked on any PIR or any testing.

Why not go the whole hog and fit a PLC so all options are covered (joking).

I think it is a cracking project for apps or students.Personaly I would try to use something of the shelf that can be easily replaced if faulty at a ater date.Home brew is fantastic for yourself not others.

Just to fill you in I have spent 5 days getting a networked PLC bag of cr@p working when it should never have been fitted or left to do what the end user think it can do.approx 9 yrs old.

Guess what told Friday they now want it replacing ASApP what I was willing to do last week. More money Guess what goverment body not thier money ours.

As the OP already has the photocell, relay and relay base; then there isn't much more expense in getting this working exactly how he wants... If it was me I'd make this project up rather than buy something off the self, but then again I like doing those kind of things..

Feel for you Basman,, you manage to get it working then they say "replace it".. at least you have the satisfaction that you fixed it; and the money that they are going to pay you to replace it...
