i have also pondered this one...

extraneous is defined as liable to introduce a potential with plastic pipe supply to inside the property most likely it cannot, so it is extraneous due to a fortutetus (cant spell the word) connection with cpc at boiler?

or am i barking up completely the wrong tree?

Thanks guys, some good points made. Now i'm really confused.

Have to try and get my head round this later headbang

Hi WATTSY, had another think on this ,this morning, over my cornflakes....sad I Know :| . I think you are on the right track with checking if any exposed pipework is extraneous,as you posted earlier however, how about this take on it.............If you test back to the MET and the result is good continuity, and i am thinking in the order of not less than 0.1 ohms, then the pipework can be taken as being effectively bonded to the MET; and no further bonding required. On The point Ian made, I have another theory and that is that all pipework from the Boiler should be already effectively bonded to the MET via the virtue of the Gas pipe supplying it .the cpc to the boiler issue can therefore be ignored i think in this context.

Let us know how you get on...Thanks
