is there such a thing ??

need something like that to trickle charge a customers caravan

cheers

Lockable with plug in or out? Why do you want it lockable?
I know we like to say there's no such thing as a daft question, but...

plug in: lock it to stop anyone playing tricks and pulling the plug out and stopping the charge.

plug out: 1) stop neighbours nicking the leccy and 2) stop the kids sticking things in the socket (dangerous).

This is only what comes to mind quickly - others may have other reasoning.

I can assume things on my own, thanks for assuming I couldn;t though. ;)

customer wants to trickle charge his caravan via outside socket

isolation socket inside so he can isolate it when not in use

y not put a blue commando type socket on the wall and make him an short lead from cammoando plug to standard extension lead socket (single rubber type) on the end of a short piece of flex and tell him to hang that short lead up on the garage wall that way its not a normal plug socket outside and no one can use it...

This thread begs two questions in my mind..

1/ Caravan lead..

commando plug / socket one on each end...

If the "house" end is lockable..

what happens at the caravan end?

Our caravan power inlet is just a commando inlet behind a NON_LOCKING plastic flap.. so the caravan end could be unplugged by anybody anyway!?

2/ Has the customer got a garage?

I have a commando socket outlet just inside my garage...

I can plug my caravan charge lead into the garage

and a little notched groove in the bottom of the garage doors allows the lead to pass through without getting damaged whilst the doors are closed.

so power accessible to me only.. no need to lock or isolate anything.

other than that..

I would agree with the earlier option of wooden box cover with padlock..

Put a socket inside one of these lockable post boxes.
