I have a friend who is a director at an agency that recruits electricians in Laaaaarndon. I had a look on his website for a laugh not long ago. One job was for a maintenance electrician to work night shift, when i worked out the hourly rate working at Tescos seemed appealing, it was for a position in Glasgow though.
I have another friend who is a setting out engineer. He went to university, spent a long time learning his trade. If he gets something wrong when setting out it could cost an insane amount of money to correct. He only gets a couple £ extra an hour then a machine driver.
