is it me or is loop in lights a pain on most non pendant light fittings, do people junction box makeing it easier to put up the fitting, although jb are a pain as well and need to be accsessable, i see these mentioned a bit on here http://www.wagobox.com/shop/pushwire/4-pole-pushwire-terminal-block-20pcs.html

are these the way forward at the min i loop in, unless its to a light fitting that will only take 2 conductors then i use an accsesable jb??????

it can be easier with just a T&E at the light, but its not normally hard to fit loop in wiring in the box. push fits on the perm. live is often useful.

depending on new light, its sometimes possible to leave existing pendant base in place, and fit new light over it

what if put a bit of solid core in the connector strip then put the light up and just push fit it in to wago?

I have done it with bootlace ferrules, but it all takes time, and you have to ask, is it worth the extra time?

Some installations will insist on all final connections to be properly terminated, and this would mean the use of ferrules or solder to prevent strand damage to cables.

Again its time, and as time is money you are often forced to use the most cost effective means to do the job.

Its a case of using correct connectors when using wagos. If you have a solid and a stranded they do a grey one for this purpose. If you have two solid and a stranded they do a white one for this purpose. If you have a lot of stranded ones they do a 3 lever and 5 lever for this purpose.

I agree, as I have tried and failed. :coat Wago do a lever type of fitting where you can use flex but the smallest they do is a three way connector.

I have used the ashfield connectors, loop in,loop out, and transformer, again just far too small to reasonably be worthwhile.

I always find with cheap light fittings, like those made in china, sold in major outlets for a fortune, are very cheap, suprisingly given a safety kite, and a waste of time.

When will they learn that CABLE is BIGGER than the poxy little connectors they provide!
they think its adequate because the wiring is so bad and thin etc there, it does fit!

I use "Push FIts" from Ideal industries, and although I haven't tried this yet - The manufactures claim that they take Solid and stranded Conductors.

Yeah the Wago type did the same, however when I tried to pull them out, they came out easier than the solid strand did, which lowered my confidence of using them.

There are some very good 20amp, grey and white connectors that wago do. The grey type just take one in and one out, whereas the white do a double push fit, and a spring loaded clamp for an outlet to a flex for example.

Best part about all these fittings is they are reusable.

do you lot who use wago's say they are cost effective?

i.e the time saved out weighs the extra cost over connectors say?

sorry to the op for the ot

i suppose with how crap they are in the first place then your given cheap ones that split if you slightly tighten them headbang

Yes, deffo.

Fit & forget, and don`t have to worry about `em being accessible.

Further, in a bathroom with 4 downlights, a fan, and an illuminated mirror, I can choose the appropriate pushfits (4 way for perm. live, 8 way for N, 6 way for sw. lives and 8 way for cpcs. two red crimps - job done :)

to do that with connector strips is a bit of a bugger :(

and happy to leave them "flapping about" i'e with connectors you'd atleast do the tape to death thing but the wago's look like they provide minimum ip?

which i forget the lowest number?
