every penny counts.

your insurance is for accidents,

your professional indemnity is for mistakes, but that is if you can prove your professional error and not simply one of negligence,

leaving an apprentice on his own would be negligent, not a professional error,

marking a C1 fault on a PIR down as a C2 may be construed as professional error.

Ive always thought, your PI is for your opinion, design work and your opinion or a install (PIR).

PL is for accidents, claims im always being told about are paint falling on carpets ect, PL should cover employees (although they may still need their own PL at a agreed level).

Say a loose connection somehow burns down a 4 million pound property, would your PL not cover this?

Or do they sue you for your house and turn round to the owner of the 4mill house and then go heres 100k?  I cant see that happening some one will have to pay the 4mill, surely this is your PL insurer as your level of cover should be this high to cover the properties you are working in?
