Main DB location in house

Hi, Is there anything to stop me from installing main DB in cupboard that also has hot water tank in it.

The phrase "Mutual Detrimental Influence" springs to mind, BS7671:2008 regs 522.3, 528.3.3 & 528.3.4 should be consulted.

Are you planning to put the DB above or below the tank & where are the pipes running in relation to your DB & cables, also will the heat from the tank have an effect?

Whilst it is quite possible to install the DB in this cupboard & comply with BS7671 it might be better to find another location.

Have to agree as if the ambient temp of cupboard is quite high like in an airing cupboard, it would have a knock on effect to the cable calcs as well

where is the supply cable coming in and if it is in that cupboard, has the water tank been put in after the Electrical installation or are you wanting to totally resite to supply too? If so i'd find a better place than in the "airing" cupboard.

Heres my CU below the immersion heater which is fed from open tank above.
