Hi guys, I think. I already know the answer to this one, but is it possible to lengthen the meter tails from one of those double pole isolaters that SP fit or are they sealed which means I have to get SP to do it?

Cheers

if its after the meter then its 7671 & 7671 doesnt say it must be sealed... unless its owned by DNO, but even so, they wont be bothered about a missing seal on a henley that could belong to anyone...

Or just cut it & throw it away .........do what you need to do .     The idea of a DP isolator is to seperate the DNO responsiblity from the contractor and it solves the age old problem of calling them in to undo a screw for you .

Just switch off & do it Bob.

Is it one of these Wylex REC2 units?

The tails from the meter come into the bottom. The cover is in two pieces. The bottom half goes over the tails. One of the cover screws extends and is cross drilled to take a seal as shown.

To work safely, you switch off and can then remove the top section and get to the tails to the meter.

After of course having locked it off and put up signs, tested your tester on a proving unit or known source of supply, tested for dead, re-tested  your tester on a proving unit or known source of supply......not forgetting to keep the key in your pocket at all times!

A quick search on eBay will find the seals. If you only need a couple pm me an address and I'll send you a few.

I've got some Wylex REC2S in stock @ £10.00.

Shipping would be £3.20, unless it's shipped with a DB order  in which case, shipping for the REC2S would be FOC.

Prices exclude VAT.

It's the exact same one and closer inspection of the ****** picture I was sent, it doesn't have a seal on the bottom half, only the top half from there meter. So no seal will be placed back on, however thank you OnOff for the offer

You need to seal the meter side cover really - fit the longer cross drilled screw in that. Depending on which side the tails come in the covers can be reversed top or bottom. Offer still stands on the seals.
