Hi,
My friend rung me earlier and said his shower was smelling and the casing is very hot at the top. So had a look and took the cover off and attached are the pictures.
I take it this neutral was not tightened up enough and its been arcing which has caused the insulation to burn?
I saw the cable goes through wall lower than bottom of shower and shows when front is replaced on shower. I know this is not good so what would be best without chasing in and replaing tile. Trunking (siliconed up to make water tight) ??
Also would it be ok to cut the neutral back (past charred insulation) and crimp and insulate with new bit of cable and run it passed the terminal block and crimp the correct ring crimp and terminate to where their neutral is terminated??
Would this be acceptable?? (as where the cable goes through the wall it is chased in the other side)
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks
