In the office again.
I`ve got a new `phone, waiting for an unlock code - so currently using my Samsung touch screen S3.

Last week, it fell off the table, and the screen cracked.

A little bit of research later, new screen for a tenner, and a youtube video showing how to do it.

So, this morning, new screen arrives

I`ve done the replacement ( easy enough), and the phone is now working again.......BUT

The touchscreen is self-activating. It occasionally does things on its own - including unlocking itself!

It managed to make a `phone call - I just had a call back, on the landline, to say I`d called someone - we weren`t even in the same room!!!!!

Any ideas why / how to stop it????

Thanks

KME

open it back up take it out and replace it again to see if the same fault returns...

thinking............if the screen is not as far in as it should be or if there is debris around the edge the phone may see that as a finger.....prob way out    :coat

what sort of phone is it?

most smart phones, Androids and iThingies can be unlocked by plugging them into a computer and running the appropriate jailbreak/root program.

Even simpler - if I can get the iphone 4S to accept my "tesco" sim card - i`m away .......

Sadly, the ****** is on Ios 6.1.3.............. :(
To unlock my old 4s for the misses, I phoned orange, payed them £10-20 who emailed apple to unlock it. When apple sent email I plugged it I to iTunes, updated and it was then unlocked.

Yup, thats whats happening with this - but it can take apple a few days :(

Update - I`ve gone to my old Sony-erricson Z710i - When I got up this morning, the `phone had made 3 calls overnight, and sent 2 nonsense texts.......and appeared to be trying to send an email, or reset the `phone to factory defaults............

Can`t be doing with it!

KME,

Get on a business contract and get a tidy free phone with insurance, that way you might even get a VM box.

It's all tax deductable.

Our business handsets are next day replacement FOC for faults.

I have had one replaced in less than 24hrs.
