Thanks to this site I knew of the fireman advert scam.

I got a call today of a bloke who gave me the speel (number witheld of course)

I let him go through the lot then asked him was he sure he was from the fire brigade? "Oh yes" he replied. I then told him that this forum had warned me he was a scammer and that the fire brigade dont know anything about it .

Strangly he did not even argue he just said goodbye and hung up.

Hurrah, I've now decided to make it a personnel vendetta and e-mail every press officer of every fire-brigade in the country and see if I can strangle any source of revenue that 'In Attendance' have. When I get miffed I get very miffed X( , it's the flip side of my generally happy, honest, trusting personallity :^O

I've just had another call along this line

Some bird (sounded game as well) from a company banging on about an up comming project & sponsorship for the para-medics.

I have the number she called on if anybody wants it Applaud Smiley

The chat went something like this

"Hello is this GST maintenance"

It is indeed

"Hi I've been passed your info by my colleague are you now free to chat"

I've not given my details to anyone

"well I've just been given them"

what are you trying to sell

"Only my body but that doesn't happen until Saturday nights"

HaHaHaHa yeh right what scam re you selling

"you tell me your first name then we can continue"

But you apparently have all my details don't you ?

"Well I need your first name to carry on, this is only a sponsorship/advertising deal for paramedics"

M, you sure you did ring one of those chat lines and the past is catching up with you :p ; ) :D ;) ; \ :^O

I had the mobile on handsfree in the van & couldn't belive what she came out with, the lads that were with me p****d themselves laughing.

And todays scam - the carbon trust or something like that. Not on a withheld number, but even if legit, I've never heard of them so advertising would be useless.
