Hi Guys,

A little help please.

Ive been asked to install a 3 phase supply to a mortar silo on a new site. The electrical contractor on site didnt want to know for some reason.

Information ive been given;

3 phase supply (400-415 neutral + earth).

Total max load 5KW

Cable run 100m

To be controlled by its own 30ma rcd.

Assuming a c type mcb?

its been a long time since i had to do any 3 phase calculations,Ive worked out the cable size to ehat i think it should be but id like a second opinion just to satisfy myself.

cheers guys

Put your calculations on the next post you put up.

Let the others have a look at them.

I would want to know more about that decision.

Sounds like there's more to it than you are being told. A can of works he didn't want to open.  Why?

Or he's just incompetent and only a light bulb changer.
