Good morning,

I have just purchased two over cupboard swan lights and the wiring set up is slightly different from what is currently installed. I believe the lights I have purchased have an MR16 lead installed within - with two bare wires at the end. I have attached an image

to illustrate how my current lights connect to the transformer. Basically, what I am in need of are the clips to attach to the end of the wires so I can plug them in.

If you could point me in the direction what I need that would be great.

Thank you in advance

James

What leads you to believe that the lights have a mr16 lead?

What do the instructions say? I'd have thought that if it was meant to connect to the tranny that you have then it would have the proper termination to it. I would suggest that you have a read of the instructions and see exactly what is required.

Many thanks for your reply.

Well the bulbs the lights take are MR16's, and after a bit of internet research it appears that this is what it likely is. This is the item I have purchased (Kanlux SALUT DL-307-S-C M Matt Chrome Over-cupboard point light fitting). the instructions are pretty minimal, and without having any major electrical knowledge, other than wiring new switches and sockets in I'm somewhat confused.

The transformer I have currently is the old one, I have not bought a new one. I presumed that these new lights could just be attached to it.

Why don't you just cut the block that the connectors plug into off and putt the leads for the lights and the ends from the block into some connector strip and joint box? Noz has a point make sure your transformer is big enough for the bulbs you at running.

From that website,

It is perfectly possible to simply crocodile clip, solder, or wrap wires around the positive and negative terminals of a 12V MR16 or MR11 spotlight, however you should really purchase some 12 Volt Spotlight Connectors. They only cost under

I added the link to that website just purely to illustrate the type wire setup I have.
