Nice site, but is there a difference between an Electrical Installation Certificate and a Domestic Installation Certificate?

Agree with the above, also I noticed that the link Part P Certification takes you to the electricians side of elesca, most visitors will want to go to advise given to them, and not wander through multiple tabs to get where they want to go.

Looks good though, and dont forget can always be tweaked.

Thanks for the input guys

Canoeboy , The site was done by a friend , I didn't think I had the PC knowledge to do it myself , the site has now been handed over to me, so I have full admin access to try and tackle some of your recommendations (just hope I don't mess it up).

Cheers

Edit ..... Will put in a link to the forum as soon as I can work out how:)

He works for Trinity Mirror , he's a programmer .. I assume he is hosting it as its not been mentioned, hosting cost ?, probably built into the price of the site.

Cheers

I dunno much about website building......but

i like how you have put a 'doubt' in every visitors mind about whether their house is electrically safe

my best bit is....

There is no statutory obligation on landlords or agents to have professional checks carried out on the electrical system or appliances.

so you are making clear that it isnt law and that you are not conning people.

like the site mate

Just managed to put a link on the bottom of my site to the forum:)

The email is admin@ because its a free google one , that's what I was told by the guy who built the site :)

I bought the domain name to the site , and he said don't bother paying for an email account as he'll sort a google one , its a gmail account , its exact same as my own personal gmail account , that's as much as know ... I,ll sort forum link out if you tell me how:Salute :)

I am with Canoey.

Do you have cPanel? You can add another e-mail address in there.

Canoeboy? Do you mean have the link to the forum "Open in a new window"?

If so, Stevie, you could use this:

Code:
<li><a href="http://www.talk.electricianforum.co.uk" target="_blank" title="Electricians forum"> Talk Electrician forum</a></li>

That is a Google/Gmail e-mail account sign in page mate.

Your friend has re-directs on your e-mails to that account (as Canoeboy have said).

I too, would stop that redirect and use cPanel, if you have it.

How/what did you use when you added the link to your forum, Stevie?

Admin.

Admin , I put a link direct off the main forum on my site , the link supplied above doesn't seem to want to work.

Canoe , I only has access to wordpress admin , the email

[email protected] is what I log in with on my account , and arrives at sent address under the same addy , so I'm not sure if its a redirect or what , but it work OK and no one knows it a GMail account , so it will do ..

Well spotted that all links take you away from my site , need to sort this , just don't know how , will have a play , see what I can do

Cheers

Good site but you need to do some work on your keywords - "electrical testing, electricians, electricians in liverpool" aren't much to go on for the search engines, particularly if someone inputs "electrician merseyside" as I did. Another tip, particularly for google, is to get everyone you know with a website to post a link to your page - it doesn't matter if it's relevant, the more links, the higher your site is in the listings. I added a links page to my site with info on local hotels, businesses etc and got them to reciprocate. After 6 years, my site finally made it to page 1.

Cheers, Chris

Thanks for the advice Chris , I'm now starting to work on getting my site up google but it doesn't seem like the easiest of tasks , Iv been reading up on site link backs , from what iv read they can be detrimental to your site if you just add any sites with no relevance to your own site, ( how true this is , I'm not sure) I am now actively seeking links back to my site off other local businesses.

Cheers

You have a link on here mate - in your op. And trust me, you will get a heck of a way up Google for that alone. ;)

But one of the reasons for ranking is link backs, maye - yes.

SJH Electrical is 5th on the list on a Google search for Electrical Testing in Liverpool and Merseyside.

And it takes a while for the bots to get you up the rankings
I meant he has done extremely well to get to position 5 in such a short space of time mate.

There is a big company or two before him.

Check your spellings and grammar.

Found one or two mistakes on your home page alone.

Feel free to point them out , as I haven't spotted any , but I'm sure there may be be the odd 1

cheers

My site has hyperlinks if you click on the niceic and part p images, does Google recognise this, or do you need a proper links page with a list of written links? (if any of that makes sense!)
