Need Help Here Sorry, I Have An Interesting Question Here Please Read

started a new build job today and have to finish of little bit in the building an someone elses mistakes

now I don't know if its  a wiring problem or connection or polarity but

theres a key switch which works normal the normal switch in the grid next to the key switch for the same room works the lights normal also

I turn the circuit off and still find 240 in the fittings

any one got a theory on why?

What are you using to check the voltage ?

Why not do things in an orderly manner and disconnect the circuits, do all the dead tests and then the live ones and you will soon find the fault. Power it all back up then and all will be fine. At least you will know all is ok then AND it is the only SAFE way of proceeding...

What they planning on using for a cert??

Well,,, I'd be thinking that its supplied by a different circuit that you think it is

i think dimmerswitch may actually be Stanley Unwin

Or the key switches the sw side of the normal switch and does not iso the perm feed.

BUT as i cannot actually understand the wording in the OP i may as well blow bibbles
