Excellent idea, glad to see you came back and read the replies and not only took notice but let us know that you had.

There are a lot of people come here who are dangerous/incompetent but they think they know better so they just disappear and do it anyway and/or keep asking the same questions on different forums hunting for the answer they want to hear until they find a group of like-minded people with no idea what they are doing either.

nah I'll be careful. Trying to build a a power supply that can supply around 20 amps @14 volt. Here is the schematic:  http://www.zen22142.zen.co.uk/Circuits/Power/1220.htm

And i have everything except a transformer and i can't afford one atm. So I'm looking for one :)
Just buy one, it won't break the bank http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AC-to-DC-12V-20A-Power-Supply-Voltage-Transformer-Switch-For-Led-Strip-UK-STOCK-/321634448595?hash=item4ae2e834d3:g:7fAAAOSw~bFWIJnO

Wow that was a good price. Before i just bought a PSU for PC and used that a<s a power supply. It could deliver about 60 amps @12V. the only problem with that (and many other 12 volt supplies) is that when the load goes up to maybe 10 amps the voltage can drop down to about 11 volts. i need one that can deliver a stable 13 - 14V.

I understand. I don't care about that here. I mean, I can admit when I'm wrong. And i know that you guys are right. I was just so hyped of building my own supply. I also have almost all of the parts at home except a transformer haha

What is it you have that needs 14V not 12V?

A lot of these switch mode 12V psu's will have an adjustment for output voltage and may well be adjustable up to 14V.

the better high power psu's have remote sensing so the voltage is regulated at the load not at the output terminals.
