Hello,

I'm just doing some research, but I need a plug socket put on a wall in my living room, thing is the nearest 'feed' for the spur that I can see is a nearby socket opposite out 2m away through a doorway.  My living room has a concrete floor and I want to see if I can buy some flush floor conduit/trunking, but can't seem to find any.  I was going to channel out the concrete and lay the conduit/trunking down so it is flush and I can lay the carpet down and you won't feel it when you walk over it, or can you think of a better way?

I will also be adding some coax and hdmi cables through this passage to the other wall too.

Thanks

What sort of property is it ? aren't there any rooms above the living room ? couldn't you lift a floorboard upstairs, install cables and drop down ?

What are the walls made of? solid brick and plastered or timber and plasterboard?

Sometimes you have to make a decision. Is the disruption and subsequent making good afterwards worth it? Okay if you were going to decorate the room soon, but otherwise it might just be better to use an extension lead neatly clipped to the skirting board, and re think fitting a socket next time you are planning to redecorate the room.

Is this part of your other question? http://talk.electricianforum.co.uk/topic/25913-need-to-add-power-to-my-store-my-store-cupboard/ Should the posts be merged?

The Plug socket goes on the House Wall - ideally somewhere the appliance's Socket Plug will reach.    If not a Socket Plug Lead Extension must be connected to the Plug socket

Simples

Being an electrician is sometimes overwhelming with the knowledge we have to have. I feel so proud of you guys being able to translate something so complicated to be so simple. :Applaud
