met daughter at property (empty) leaves me a back door key but locks the front door on the way out.

so crack on with testing and need to go out to the van for more kit

out the back door round the corner DOH !

padlock on the back gate :_|

i must have climbed over the gate a dozen times.....

customer phones me in the evening asking how i got on....

told her bless ,,,,,, she was so embarrased :^O

hopefully its sorted for this morning !!!!

But not so easy climing over with the large drill and transformer.

Theory - could you not have unscrewed the hinges and replaced afterwards? :D
Find me a gate where the hinge screws haven't rusted beyond hope of removal and I will be very impressed!

no angle grinder on the van then?

Sorry, I made this thread go a bit off there...

:)

Most of the gate hinges I have had the misfortune to try and remove have been done decades ago.... in poor quality, slotted screws.

Not many people used nice shiny plated, or stainless, or yes brass (as you say essential for oak due the the natural acidity of the wood) way back when!
