I've just had to strip down my Bosch PMF180e because it stopped working today :(

After a bit of testing I found that 6 of the rotor commutators are open circuit :( :( :(

TBH I was hoping that it was just the brushes.

So this now leads to the next question which is.....

What do I replace it with??

If funds will run to it......Fein

failing that.......Coltech. By Clas Ohlson...........unbelievable warranty and service ( i have 3 of the battery versions, bought whilst on offer)

2 live in the vehicle....one has a multi blade on it, the other has a segmented blade.  Third stays at home in the workshop with a sanding pad attached

just saying

Unfortunately funds will not run to a Vein,, so I'm looking at something a bit more budget.

My Bosch lasted me something like 5 years so it has earned its money

One thing that I was pondering was whether to get a mains or battery one???

Argos are doing same one

Clas ohlson warranty is either 3 or 5 years

mains version is about £29.  And battery version about £59 or £39 when on offer

just saying
Kerching, thats a good warranty!  I might just have a look at Clas Ohlson the next time the other half drags me down to Merry hill shopping centre kicking and screaming as I hate the place :(

+1 to the Clas Ohlson multi tool being good value for money....

Guinness

I have the battery version..  the only gripe would be that it only comes with one battery...

I would have been happy to pay a bit more and have two batteries!!!

We use the Fein cordless at work for cast removal and it is a superb bit of kit.

I have the Bosch PMT180 (or whatever it is called) and the Fein is in a different class.

TBH I hadn't thought of Argos so I have just had a look

They've got a challenge extreme mains and battery (10.8V) versions for ITRO £25 ea

I've reserved both ;)

I got a CHEAP Draper one from Makro - £29 I think it was. Been as good as gold tbh though the bit fitting is I think non standard as in it's a hexagon. Only got it as I'd borrowed my mates B&Q MacAllister one. (That and the fact it was dead cheap). Wouldn't be without it now. Only one online with Makro at the mo is this Bosch one:
