Is a smoke door a safety feature to keep all the smoke in so it can never go faulty by letting the smoke escape???

i can see a problem with that.... how do you remove the clothes & refill with dirty whilst trying to keep the smoke in?

there is an airlock,

at least thats what I told the wife, she has to keep her gob shut while the washing is on and during loading/unloading,

its not working so far  :C
