hi,

1. on a completed circuit detail table would all the spaces where value are not needed just be simply left blank, put a "-" or N/A. i was guessing a "-" in all empty spaces but N/A in "ring final circuits, r1,rn,r2" which aren't ring mains.

2. also on the "rcd operating times" column would the trip values for each rcd be recorded on all mcb protected by that rcd or just in the row for the rcd (sorry if that doesnt make sense).

3. "max disconnection time permitted" column, its 0.4s for socket circuits,light circuits etc but for fixed equipment ie cooker switch and immersion etc would it be 5s.

4. do rcds have a short circuit capacity (kA) ie domestic mcbs normally 6kA or 6000A

I would complete as follows, Our NICEIC Inspector doesn't like blanks as looks like info is missing so N/A

RCD Times against all releven circuits, the other RCD information is for when it is the primary form of protection for example on a TT system.

0.4 for Sockets, 5 for hard wired circuits including Lights.

RCD's don't generally have a Ka rating. (I Think)

Any form or certificate that you are signing shouldn't be opten to alteration after it is signed - therefore n/a or even a diagaonal line through the box would be best practice.

Correct me if I wrong but I am under the impression that any TN circuits under 32amps carry the disconnection time of 0.4 secs and any TN circuits above 32amps the 5 secs disconnection time under the 17th Edition?

I would disagree with RCD not having short circuit rating. Looking at ones I have some are ratad at 10ka and others at lower than that, some don't have ka rating on them but I am sure they must.
