Like I've said in another post or two, we've just moved house... And there was no washing line so the only thing I had to hand was some 2.5mm grey singles so i strung it up from a fence post to the garage,,, no catinery wire and not in conduit:( ;)

So two questions really;) ;)

Does it comply? and does it need to be notified??? ;) ; ) ;) :slap

did you use the red single or black singles as if this has been installed as black singles dont go telling steps as hell be asking if youve installed an earth rod and not pm'ed it :slap

2.5mm singles shud be good, lets face it with the English weather they certainly aint gonna overheat are they? Mebbe you shud have used arctic cable....... :)

Protective device - line prop. All good :)

I guess as its crossing the garden it is notifiable, but if it was repairing a existing faulty washing line then you could call it maintenance?

Doc H.

oh well thats worserer :^O cause grey is used as earth so youve exported the earth from your house, i do hope your supply is tns not tncs steps will have a field day if the second one :D

is there a risk assessment in place ?????warning signs ??????
I'm in a bit of a fix with that really,,,

The cable is well below the recommended height, but as Mrs Noz is only 5' tall I would have needed a risk assesment based on working at height if I had stuck it in at the right height - note the cable does not have any intermediary support, only fixed at both ends, however it might have temporary support in the guise of a pole from time to time;)

I'vemnot really determined an inspection interval yet, however it will be visually inspected at least twice (if not 4 times) a week when the weather is good,,, not so often when it's raining though;)

well personally id recommend tommorrow :^O also has the cable / washing line got rcd protection, and is the patio earth bonded with 10mm earth and the trees also bonded with 10mm earth. :D
