Erm, they do. Also they do on any highway that a pedestrian is allowed. If you hit a pedestrian it is always your fault, but if the pedestrian was being stupid (like walking out into the road without looking while listening to their ipod etc....) then its highly unlikely you will be prosecuted.

Driving with due care & attention me thinks..

approaching a junction, school, zebra crossing, traffic lights etc..

you should be expecting to have to slow down possibly stop due to hazards..

Highway code states that you have to stop if people waiting - the foot on the crossing is European Law, not relavant in UK!

Zebra crossings. Give traffic plenty of time to see you and to stop before you start to cross. Vehicles will need more time when the road is slippery. Wait until traffic has stopped from both directions or the road is clear before crossing. Remember that traffic does not have to stop until someone has moved onto the crossing

i just put a number plate high level on the van and rarely need to put another on the trailer....

people choosing to discuss recent events/gossip/catch up with long lost friends in the middle of the aisle or on the corner so you have to go all the way round

hoverers who spend ages deciding which product to buy, neatly blocking off all access to the surrounding shelves

waiting for people to cross your path only for them to saunter past as if time doesn't exist and without any acknowledgement

people (women) at the checkout who spend half an hour to search for their purse then have to re-organize the contents in alphabetical order before moving and letting me pay

i really hate shopping!
