Basic stuff really but just checking...

That board in the first picture I'm guessing it has asbestos flash pads!? Wanted to know without opening it, so I can leave a warning notice for the next Muppet.

:animal:

And the head... Not seen one of those before its old and big.

Looks a bit like an ISCO, I'm guessing 1930's, possible fused neutral?

It's a Lucy BTW.

:)

It ain't ISCO and it may not be quite as old as you think, but seeing as how it's got an AC label near it I'd guess the service has been there since the days of the DC to AC changeover.

Its nice ice to see that there is a decent earth connection to the lead sheath which has been completely ignored in favour of a 951 clamp! 👍

If if the cast numbers on the front of it follow the same logic as more recent versions of that same cutout then it's a 3x100A cutout

"its metal, so fully LFB compliant. no need to upgrade it

also, it may have 1362 fuses in, no asbestos"

Its all lead sheath Im not touching it!!!

Need to make an addition to the wylex below it which is redundant but still live.

ISCO

is an abbreviation for

Insulated

Service

COnnector

The fuseboard was around from the 1950's and were still being fit in the 1960's, when I was a lad these are the ones we removed and replaced with the then new wylex boards. The cutout is probably no later than the 1940's and could be the 1950's

I have the feeling Amelie might go on strike if you invited her to that one. If doing a CU change, you might have to pull the tails from that henley live :innocent  Probably the least dangerous method.

ISCO is a trade name of WT Henley and co.

I tried to add some pictures from the fitting instructions from ISCO cutouts but can't work out how at the moment
