I have the same CU as that, that needs changed (would upload a picture but can’t until I have done more post) a few things a bit different. The main thing being that the earth is supplied using the conduit.

The meter tails are in really bad condition.

So we called the DNO. I told the DNO on the phone what the problem was and that we would like a isolator switch fitted, and that they might need to change the tails because of the age and that they were in bad shape the girl on the phone first told me that age of the cables does not matter and that there is no need for a isolator switch. When they agreed that they would fit the isolator switch they put some else on to book it through I also told him about the age of the installation and he said it would be fine… So last week the DNO sparky comes out and tells the customer they can’t do anything till Scottish power change something because it was unsafe for him to do his job until then. Now got to wait 2 months.

So if you call the DNO be prepared to wait

Exposed live terminals seem to get them around quite quick (even exposed neutrals)

Thats what i said and they responded  "best we can do is fit the isolator"
