Thanks for that valuable input.

It actually doesn't look anything like that in the flesh but this is what comes up on their website.

They have a picture of it outside so I imagine so. It will be going on a sheltered balcony anyway so out of the way of the winter weather.

So basically you need a socket/connection point off the light, lead, waterproof box for sockets and power supplies and some electrical skills. Is it really worth the hassle?

Well the girlfriend thinks it will look nice and so do I so was seeing if it was possible :) I'm not worried about the hassle or how long it will take to do. Just to know how to do it is enough.

If its not possible to hook up that tree then I might do this. Not really what we was going for though. Really had our eye on this tree. Oh well. I guess its just not possible.

Thanks all for your input

This could be done but does seem a bit of work for a little tree.

Providing RCD protection is in place as you say....

If it were me I'd......

Come out of that light fitting in white Conduit

into an IP55 Switched FCU - Fused to 3 amps

Back out of this in conduit

Down to Balcony floor level then into an external Dri box (better looking ones are available)

Then plug tree transformer in inside the box.
