Hi, i am new to the forum, this is my first post. I am an adult trainee electrican.

My question is, i have been asked to wire to outside PIR lights, just wondered on the best way to wire these.

Would it be a simple case of from the fused spur to the first light and then loop to the second light using arctic 2 core an earth or is there a better way.

I want either PIR to trigger both lights, so am thinking I may need a 3 core between the two lights.

Hope this is clear, appreciate any help given.

Thanks

Craig

if you want either PIR to trigger both lights on one activation, then you will need a 4 core flex between them, with a per live to both, and a switched live. feed to lights can be a 3 core flex

for fused spur, its best to use DP so that a fault outside can easily be isolated (neutral-earth faults still appear to an RCD, even if the live is switched off with SP)

and welcome to the madhouse

Check the rating of the PIRs, if they are combined with light, they will probably only be rated for one light. If you put more than one light on they won't last.

many these days will happily take 2 or more, but still needs checked

Thanks guys for your quick responses, your advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks again
