Oven cable

Hi. I have a new oven which uses 5.3kw and 30amp. The cable existing in kitchen is 8mm 32amp. Is this suitable?. Thanks

best check your cable size again... 8mm² isnt used

Hi. Oven not coming till thurs but I think the cable is 10mm sorry.

'think' isnt good enough. you need to know what size it really is before any proper advice can be given. there's also other factors to consider. chances are its good to go, but for all we know, your '8mm' or '10mm' is the the physical side of the cable and not its CSA, and it could be a bit 2.5mm²...
