Hi,

Just wondered If anyone can recommend any good overshoes to wear in people's houses with nice cream/white carpet.

Can't really work with sharp tools and no foot protection so looking for something to put over trainers whilst in customers house.

The recommendations/reviews on amazon can't really be relied upon as they may have been submitted by muppets :)

Cheers

I wear safety trainers usually and have a clean pair of reeboks in the van if need be. Never had too much trouble, tbh most of the nice houses I work in have cleaners / maids and tiled floors so not too much of a problem. Have blue over shoes in the van but never worn them so can't review!

I've got some blue ones and i must admit they aren't to bad to be honest,

They have a good elastic around them which does keep them tight around the top of the foot.

Think mine came from Toolstation. They are blue with a slight textured finish,....not just plastic bags.

As I am blessed with size 11 feet when wearing steeliness my feet resemble the royal barge!.....but these overshoes are the only ones that fit. Also good for covering up detector heads on a shop refit!

You have to make a small hole for the stilletoes heels to go through!

Wouldn't want to leave a mess on the Axminster now, would we?

Just staining.....

the biggest PITA is when you need to keep popping back to the van for this n that. You are now walking OUTSIDE with the overshoes so then they become pointless.

I have a cunning plan....I take mine off!

Every times go back to the vani take something with me...less trips at end of day, less taking off of overshoes.

However I try to steer away from domestic....I am usually in Clean rooms or server rooms or photo litho areas

We have the blue over shoes but never really needed to use them, alternatively  buy a roll of  like sticky back cling film lay as entering property to protect carpet/flooring  bish bash bosh when finished peel up  no damage to carpet and all dust and bits contained int he plastic bang into a bag theres all ya rubbish contained :D

i know screwfix and toolstation and such the like sell it   normally around £10 for a roll of 20m :D very handy stuff to have if im honest :D

just search for Carpet Protector and it should bring it up

This is what i am not looking forward to when doing CCTV and alarm job coming up soon.  The guy doesnt like anyone wearing shoes in the house (religious and cleanliness thing)!

Might have to buy a new pair of cheap shoes as I already have blue overshoes, but think these might be slippy on his shiny floors :(   :(

Combination of dust sheets, sticky carpet roll stuff, and some of those elasticated blue overshoe things....

Bought 100 of the ages ago..  still got loads left!!!

only occasional use them...

But often double them up using two per foot as they do tend to rip....

But they are cheap...

looking at some of the write ups.. sounds like the quality & PVC thickness may have been reduced further still???

Pair of cheap slip-on shoes may be just as good for indoor work????

HOWEVER...

A good thick dust sheet in the entrance door & up the hall and/or stairs is essential as most domestic foot mats still leave loads of crap on the soles of your boots, even after a thorough wipe!
