I know part p regs apply to domestic but would it also apply to a football club premises ie bar , kitchen , VIP room , changing rooms etc. I only ask as Chairman wants things done his way which does not comply with part p.

Part P for dwellings only. So unless the football club has a flat or something attached using the same meter, then no need to worry about Part P.

Do people live and sleep at this football club premises ie bar , kitchen , VIP room , changing rooms????

If not...

I doubt it could be called a "Dwelling"

They do if its Villa Park , players are sleeping on the pitch lately, so all work there would have to be Part Peed ?? ;)

Bet the op is talking about energy efficient lighting?
All building Regulations have to be followed at all times (including Part L).

Part p applies to dwellings only!!!!!!!!!!!! So football club is purely business/commercial (no flat or the like). Therefore part p does not apply but BS7671 obviously

does ,this is how i am reading the situation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are a number of regulations that cover all types of work, building regulations are one of them. Part P does not apply in this instance.

Yes Rob, so what is it that the chairman wants doing that does not comply with Part p? Just curious to see what situation he wants to skip on part p, but still meet bs7671? Does he have knowledge of electrical installations and regs? You are the sparky! (i guess)

Rob69,

This can be done as far as 7671 goes, however, there are other building regs that may apply, i.e. access for disabled, though I'm not sure of the exact requirements without looking it up, nor which part it is.

IIRC there is a download of the relevant section of the building regs for disabled access in the downloads section, trouble is, ask anyone round here I am a very poor driver of this forum software!

Adding links and searching is a bit beyond me on times!!!

HTH

So commercial property undergoing rewire and he wants them back at the same height? Or something else?

What other work is going on? What is the extent of your work?

Actually, that may not be important. Not a dwelling so any work should comply with part M.
