I need to replace a consumer unit. This CU is mounted directly above an Off Peak CU. (Zero space in between)

All existing cables are run through PVC Conduit. Within some of the conduits are peak and off peak cables mixed together. So some of the peak cables come up through the bottom of the Off Peak CU and continue out the top of it and in thru the bottom of the peak unit.

Is this ok or do I need to route them separately? If I do this by using an adaptable box or similar I will still have the peak and off peak cables mixed in there. Or should I adapt the conduit and separate the cables that way?

Its a lot more common down in London Andy, I have seen a few of them over the years.

Can't see any issue. Will need a label saying they are isolated from a dual supply.

never seen one on a different phase, the 2nd fuse has always been linked to the first one

In North  London  the majority of old Victorian houses ( which  are the majority of properties)  have a 3 phase TNS supply. There was a huge push in storage heaters back in the 50-60's round here due to all the manufacturing in Enfield, it used to be the centre of the world for electric things, Belling, Thorn, General Electric , Delta Enfield were just a few i remember with MK being the last to bail out around 10 years ago. Anyhow due to the engineering  they wanted to get rid of all that spare leccky at night  so pushed the  E7 stuff. I have some old advertising blurb somewhere about this. The storage heaters were mainly connected to a different phase to the house.

definitely much different to up here. its usually a normal SP head with an additional fuse holder fitted onto the side with a solid link on the bottom to connect to supply side of other fuse
