Theatres are 5 years old. All as fit drawings available along with previous test results. Theatres will be totally out of action for the weekend and as they have their own incomer and panel board will be able to shut off the whole of the installation. Judging by the information I have been given this is their first PIR.

May be wrong about first PIR but judging by the folder I flicked through in the office there doesn't seem to be any other test Certs apart from originals.

It is recommended that the MEIGaN tests are carried out every year, so it looks like this has not been done. The electrical installation can be done every 5 years as normal. Have you found out if its IT yet? If it is be careful testing both parts and make sure the insulation monitor is fitted and working correctly. You will need some long wander leads, if testing any x ray machines the actual tester should be placed outside the room to avoid any disturbances especially if its a MR. Remember some of the tests require the machines to be on and off. Touch voltages are tested under both. More important just watch your test voltages it can be critical on some machines.

By IT I take it you mean isolating transformer. If so yes they have an IPS system in place ( Isolated Power Supply) two large transformers in the bottom of a cabinet which feeds most of the sockets

Manator you've got me thinking now. As they are only giving me original Certs and as fit drawings they might only want the electrical installation testing hence no previous MEIGaN test sheets. Will have to make a call in the morning. Thanks for your insight.

Just to clarify...

By "IT" , I think you will find Manator was referring to the earthing system as a whole, within the area.

And yes, I was querying from your first post, which appeared to suggest (to me, anyway) that you weren`t competent enough to do these tests. My apologies if that was an incorrect read on my part.

KME apologies accepted and apologies for not making myself clear on my first post. Have not found out the earthing arrangements of installation. Have only had a quick site of information and don't think earthing arrangements were mentioned.
