PIR for insurance

Mate of mine owns a small car garage repair garage in a village and has just had to redo all his insurances for the year with the broker. They have told him its not a requirement for this year but he must get a PIR before his renewal next year. Is this becoming common place now?? Just thinking of a small avenue to look into a bit more work.

Yes I have had to do more PIR's this year as most commercial insurance companies are requesting them

Yes Foxy , its cropping more and more with insurance companies. There is an earlier post of mine which tells of an insurance company not accepting a PIR from me , NICEIC electricians only .
