Just another PIR question (as I don't think it's worthy of it's own thread):Small industrial unit, 3 phase board, all wired in galv conduit.

Everything okay, except 13A ring mains wired in 2.5mm solid core cable.

I would always use multi strand conduit cable.

Would solid cored cable in galv conduit warrant any mention or not? All tests okay.
I'd prefer stranded too Dave, but you can't enter it on a PIR just 'cos you don't like it.

It was the c r a p p y ist cable ever foisted upon us , specially the 2.5 solid core !!!!! What a load of brown poo that stuff was .

Hmmmmm.

Well, maybe not exactly; we have said previously that anything you code should be able to be backed up by a reg.

BUT, as I said previously, "obs" in the code column to denote that something, whilst not contrary to (or even within the scope of) 7671, may be of issue to another applicable standard, or may simply be a questionable / unsuitable item, method or system. Whilst the use of "obs" is not specifically allowed in 7671, it isn`t precluded either.

KME

would poor access to a consumer unit be a code ie no access to earth and neutral bars unless a 2.5mtr cornice being taken off?

^ Linkey no workey KME

OK is anyone else gonna have a go at codes?

if not I'll put mine up & apart from 2 I have discussed with KME at the site last week which I will indicate, then there has been no corroboration.

I am not saying mine are right, I just left them as long as possible as I have worked on the site with KME and have actually seen some of the points, but no I did not do the PIR with him.

I thought it would have been inappropriate for me to comment sooner.
