Had this problem 3 times now. The insurers of one of my best customers, (another printing works,) are asking for an EIC on the electrics ,( I presume they mean a PIR) . However, they insist on an NICEIC company, so far they won't budge .

Anyone else had this ?

yes the local council i work for state only nic or eca, also a m8 lost a quote because he was eca they wanted nic only he was flabagasted lol.

We have a nice lady at Elecsa who will fight this on your behalf

Give them a ring every time this situation arises,it is wrong.

As far as i am concerned we are Eca as they own Elecsa.X( X(

Trouble is some firms will only accept NICEIC regardless of other schemes being of similar standards.

It comes down to personal preference and is not predjudice over one provider against another.

Unfortunately there is nothing the lady at elesca can do if the customer chooses niceic.

I can never understand why as some of the NICEIC jobs done by there contractors has a lot to be desired. I personally think my work is to a good and quite often better standard.

If its a local authority then i do believe there is something she can do !!.

Ring her and ask.

its still the choice of the customer though. but in the case of most councils, there are not really aware of anyone other than the NIC, and so reject others. but a phone call and/or letter from other scam providers may get them to reconsider
